Here We Go Again

I had dinner with Karmela, a fantastic author and critique partner who really kicks ass (especially mine when she's reading my stuff ... ack!). We're hoping to do a writer's weekend where we rent a cabin in the boondocks and just write, only coming out of our rooms or up from our computers to eat and drink (yes, alchohol will be served). Maybe after every page I complete, I do a shot. Hmmmm ... I wonder how that will work out. Good motiviation, but it might get harder or easier or write after awhile. We'll just have to see. :P

Since it's hard for me to blog everyday with all the crap piling up, I'm going to take a cue from Marcia and just blog once a week. Okay ... weight off my shoulders now.

But, seriously, Al Swearengen said it best on the Deadwood series (which, if any of you haven't seen, was brilliant) and it sort of fit my mood these past few months:

"In life you have to do a lot of things you don't fucking want to do. Many times, that's what the fuck life is... one vile fucking task after another."

Also, I've been watching a lot of movies lately and one that stood out (horror-wise) was Teeth, about a girl who learns (at least the hard way ... well, hard way for her boyfiend) that she has vagina dentata. It perfectly combines teen angst, the trials and pitfalls of puberty, and how hell hath no fury like a vagina with teeth. If you want to make your men squirm, put this movie in!
